WHY YOU NEED YOGA IN YOUR LIFE

How yoga can change your life, shape your body and make you feel at peace.


When I first tried #yoga, I didn't understand why everyone was so in love with the practice. I signed up for a 1 hour class at a busy gym and threw myself in at the deep end. I was not #flexible at that time, I was embarrassed that I didn't know what I was doing and the experience was anything but calming. I went a couple of years before giving yoga another shot. The next time, I understood.


The private session took place in the #Seychelles, guided by a wonderful #yogi who had the most peaceful #aura. I woke up at 5.30am for the session so we could move with the rising sun. He took into consideration my inexperience and made sure to teach me in a way that was achievable. He taught me how to connect my breathing to my movements and to position myself correctly. The session was by no means easy, by the end of the 1 hour I had sweated so much and was completely out of breath; but that's when I felt it. That overwhelming sense of #peace and tranquility that everyone had been talking about! Everything was slow, and I felt immeasurably happy. We sat there for a few minutes, one hand on heart, one hand on the stomach, and felt the heat we had created inside of us. I felt like I had found the missing key.

If you are curious to try yoga but don't know where or how to start, then start by following one of my 10 minute yoga flows. 10 minutes may not sound like a lot, but it's enough to get your blood moving, #stretch out your body and make you feel #calm. When I started to practice yoga by myself, I started with 10 minutes and gradually increased it to 15, then 20 and so on. I still regularly do a quick 10 minute flow, especially on the days when I feel like my #energy is low or I'm #stressed out. If you have a garden or an outdoor space, even better! I find that by being in the fresh air with the sounds of #nature, it make the practice even more special.
